Article Writing Is A Critical Component Of Any Online Marketing Campaign

Many times when I am speaking with other writers and I bring up the subject of article writing, I often get a response like "I'd rather have a root canal, I just can't write", or "my spelling is horrible and my grammar is not much better". In my opinion, the first excuse is just a matter of attitude. The latter excuse falls on deaf ears because most major word processing programs have good spelling and grammar correction capabilities..

We're not talking about something that would qualify for the Pulitzer Prize in literature, simply articles dealing with a subject that may be of interest to a group of people that also may happen to have mutual interest in your particular business endeavor or activity.

Perhaps not as dramatic as the college professor's situation of "publish or perish", many Internet writers have found that the publicity and traffic that articles will bring to their website is second only in importance to actually creating sales.

When writing articles, begin by clearly defining what you want to write about. Focus on the subject and the overall message that you wish to communicate. Sometimes you might begin with a title then expand from there, then other times the title will be the last part you develop.

Structure your material (be it knowledge, thoughts, or opinions) into a reasonable sequence or order. Don't try for the final article in the first draft. Just allow your mind, and words, to flow and get some stuff down on paper. This could occur in a single session, for lengthier articles, it may be done in various rough draft sessions possibly broken into logical parts of what will eventually turn into your finished article.

Once you've finished the rough stuff, it's time to make your corrections, polish the rough edges, and possibly do some tweaks in terms of structure. Run your article through the spelling/grammar checking tool of your word processor and make the pertinent adjustments.

Now that the body of text that you have created is "technically clean" from a spelling/grammar stance and you have gratified yourself with the organization, its time to address the final styling or polishing to confirm readability (that may or may not be a word, but I'll solicit poetic authority and go ahead and use it). Read your article out loud to yourself and capture a feel for the beat or rhythm. The readability of the complete article can be affected by changing the arrangement of words and/or exchanging one like-meaning word for another. The ultimate goal is to attract readership.

Many entrepreneurs use their articles as a vital component in propelling successful internet marketing careers, earning very substantial incomes. Remember, in regard to writing articles, you're better than you think you are...it's all about attitude!
